X Topic Abstract

Climatic changes, and rising oil prices have triggered acceleration of addition of renewable sources of energy. Renewable sources of energy are not available on demand, and their availability is widely distributed: roof-top solar, and wind-mills of different sizes practically come up anywhere, and everywhere. At the same time, electrification of transportation, industries, and kitchens is gathering pace. The nature of the grid has been changing from centralized generation, and distributed consumption to distributed generation, and consumption. While the number of generation sites is increasing, their sizes have become diverse. Finally, one can generate energy at one location to be “wheeled” over the grid to be delivered elsewhere!

To deal with unpredictable availability, and intermittency of renewables, addition of storage to the grid has been on the rise. EV Charging & V2G have created fundamentally new players in the energy eco-system. With several players, and enormous number of transactions expected to happen at the speed of thought, frauds & disputes are increasing. There is a need for a technology that enables dispute free transactions at scale. ENERGY NOW NEEDS BLOCKCHAIN, a technology that automates trust.
