Overview of the event

We recently wrapped up 2019 as the year of digital quality. We talked about how digital transformation is going to bring even more drastic shifts in how we do software delivery. And how your organization needs to brace up to bring agile models to work in order to release higher quality software faster through automated testing.

A key trend that will sweep over to bring economies of scale, speed and intelligence will be automated testing followed by AI. We've seen a massive movement from manual to automation in the last couple of years, as manual could not handle this scale of change. Manual testing matrices are too big to approximate manually, take a long time, and are very complex to handle for applications like Uber, Snapchat, and Twitter that are scaling at the speed of light.

Manual testing might not be able to meet the demand of a plethora of web browsers, devices, operating systems, screen resolutions, and responsive designs. And to deliver quality at the speed of digital, there will be a need to bring in the right automated testing initiatives. But automation is vast and there are several nuances to it. Which nuances will be more pronounced in 2020?

Agile Testing and Test Automation Summit will help you get industry best practices in Test Automation and the latest tools and techniques to achieve it.

X Topic Abstract

In Software Development we have been so used to the idea that efforts in testing and checking the quality of our work mostly happens after the implementation step of our process. With this mindset, the principle of Shifting Left - Building Quality In may appear to be odd and alien to teams used to working with a traditional software development process.

Nowadays, teams are becoming Agile and understanding this principle is key to being successful in the evolution of their work process. In this talk I will share perspectives and insights of colleagues about this principle of Building Quality In. I will be sharing perspectives of people with different roles in the Product Development team - the coach, developers, testers and product owners. I aim to present real-life experiences and lessons learned by people practicing this principle.

X Topic Abstract

In order to test early and test quickly, we need to learn from manufacturing how they changed their processes to improve quality and efficiency! X Topic Abstract

Traditional test automation frameworks are tightly coupled with technology stacks, process, and teams. The team relies on their own test framework, which adds cost to migration, scalability, integration, maintenance, and performance. The test infrastructure is cost-oriented - idle time is more, instances are required if we want to run multiple automation runs. Other team members need to build the same framework and infrastructure for automation and DevOps. Dedicated resources are needed to maintain the framework, infrastructure, and operations. Migrating to a new test version of test framework, test tools, libraries become tedious as its cost-oriented to move up and down. Validating new framework with the same infrastructure and tools takes another hardware instance procurement. As technology changes, test framework changes are hard and cost-effective. Test framework becomes oriented toward, functional automation, performance automation, unit tests, security tests, API testing etc. And most automation scenarios are not exact customer environment based at least on IOT and Cloud [replica of customer setup]. The paper is design for implementing a scalable, mutable and self -learning test automation framework providing test framework as a service.
