Overview of the event

DevOps is much more than just local improvement in the development, delivery and operation of software: it represents a movement that touches development and operations (obviously!), but organizational culture, quality assurance, security, and program management.

Automation, Agile processes, micro services, continuous delivery, container and cloud technologies are essential to the current high performance IT transformation.

Agile Testing and Test Automation will help you get industry best practices in Agile Testing & Test Automation and the latest tools and techniques to achieve it.

X Topic Abstract

As organizations gravitate toward the digital future, they’re learning that a successful user experience (UX) is the most important outcome. In an increasingly complex and connected universe with ever-changing customer expectations, how do companies determine what will make their customers fall in love with their brand? Accenture believes the artful balancing of four key elements – user experience, customer insights, testing performance, and security - in your testing capabilities and procedures can support and inform UX design that generates seamless experiences and improves conversion rates. Furthermore, we have introduced a new way for companies to evaluate their customers’ feelings toward brand experiences - the “love index”. Done right, the four elements offer the key to not only surviving in this new complex environment, but thriving in it with a devoted customer base.

In an Automation proejct, the crucial parts to successfully implement a robot is usually left to those with a deepest knowledge of the processes. Business analysis is pivotal in determining and quantifying which processes are ripe for automation.

The business analyst (BA) role in an RPA project has not previously been highlighted and this presentation provides information of the steps taken in order to start the coding of an RPA solution and the testing that needs to happen afterwards.

Specifically, the BAs role in an RPA project is to:

- Understand the business requirements
- Translate the business requirements into IT
- Decribe and quantify the process
- Develop the business case and related documentation
- Assist in solution design with particular emphasis on process description
- Write the inital Project Design Document (PDD)
- Write and confirm the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) strategy and plan

I will also add in my talk about the AI market place from a business perspective.

X Topic Abstract

Setting up principles for actions, before jumping into action. In a large bank, decisions take time and it is therefore important to lay the right foundations. The risk of not doing so is to have small disconnected initiatives at team level, which hinder rather than help the overall transformation of the bank.

- Dealing with legacy. I really like the view that legacy systems are the remains of an organisation past successes. And it is fair to say that large banks have had a lot of successes in their past. The ability to deal with this historic setup is key to a successful adoption of Devops.

- Contracting for success. Often, the banks bring in consultancies to help them transform. The way the commercial relationship is established will dictate the way the team operates. I can then share some key features of a model we found successful with a number of clients.
