Overview of the event

We recently wrapped up 2019 as the year of digital quality. We talked about how digital transformation is going to bring even more drastic shifts in how we do software delivery. And how your organization needs to brace up to bring agile models to work in order to release higher quality software faster through automated testing.

A key trend that will sweep over to bring economies of scale, speed and intelligence will be automated testing followed by AI. We've seen a massive movement from manual to automation in the last couple of years, as manual could not handle this scale of change. Manual testing matrices are too big to approximate manually, take a long time, and are very complex to handle for applications like Uber, Snapchat, and Twitter that are scaling at the speed of light.

Manual testing might not be able to meet the demand of a plethora of web browsers, devices, operating systems, screen resolutions, and responsive designs. And to deliver quality at the speed of digital, there will be a need to bring in the right automated testing initiatives. But automation is vast and there are several nuances to it. Which nuances will be more pronounced in 2019?

Agile Testing and Test Automation Summit will help you get industry best practices in Test Automation and the latest tools and techniques to achieve it.

Agile Testing and Test Automation Summit, Dallas

X Topic Abstract

More and more organizations are moving away from monoliths towards microservices so that they can develop in parallel. But the organizational coupling of testing, release coordination, performance testing, etc still create the same bottlenecks, impeding the ability to deliver value at speed. Resolving these coordination points requires an entire set of organizational and technical tools. Service virtualization is one such tool, embodying the shift away from coordinated end-to-end testing while enabling production releases with confidence. In this talk, Brandon Byars, author of Testing Microservices with Mountebank, will share lessons learned to help build an automated test strategy that can keep pace with the distributed world we live in.

X Topic Abstract

In this session, we will explore what it means to live and work in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world. We will explore the domains of reactive tendencies versus creative competencies related to how all humans approach their day-to-day lives. We often hear about how our external skills are the most important to develop, yet over the year’s human, social and organizational development studies have clearly discovered that it is our inner skills that are the most important and yet we ignore them. To learn to scale your ability and your Adult Mindset to survive in our VUCA world
We will discuss and explore how the two major movements happen in the self (in its inner game) as it transforms from Reactive to Creative Leadership. The first movement has to do with a shift in how we optimize the tension between purpose and safety. In the second parallel movement, identity shifts from the outside-in to the inside out.
You will be introduced to the Leadership Circle Profile, which is the only instrument that measures these two primary leadership domains – Creative Competencies and Reactive Tendencies – and integrates this information so that key opportunities for leadership development immediately rise to the surface. Creating an opportunity to become aware of how your inner-self maybe impacting how you face the world each day.

X Topic Abstract

In the last fifteen years we have witnessed a vast spread of new methods for managing projects within software development. In 2001, the Agile Manifesto stated the common values and principles of these methods, all aimed at producing better software. Several of these values and principals are specifically expressed for designing and programming software products. Since then, the benefits of these methods have led to a widespread use of agile project management even in non-software development contexts. But, how does these values and principals affect projects in non-software areas since some values and principals are not applicable? Do they perceive the same benefits? This talk presents the case study to identify benefits of adopting Agile for Non-Technical Teams.
