Out of all the process and technological transformations that the industry has gone through, "Devops Transformation" has been extremely unique. With greatly increased delivery speed, quality and reliability Devops has been the go to stop for many companies, yet it also has been the most misunderstood concept.

Every Devops transformation or implementation starts with following questions.

• When are we hiring a new Devops team?
• How are we planning to automate our delivery chain?
• Is it going to make Ops team redundant?
• Is Development team going to take responsibility of deployments as well?

Unfortunately, Devops is not all about automating your delivery chain nor it's about making your Ops team redundant.

Devops is about creating a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing that can help with adding value and improving flow efficiency from business case to technology solution. It puts more emphasis on optimizing handoffs between different organizational silos, reducing knowledge waste, process waste, waiting waste at various levels, focusing on common vision and continuous improvement.

If the above goals are not achieved, it matters little how perfectly your delivery chain is automated. There is a need in the industry to understand the core concepts of Devops. This session is just not philosophy but provides relevant and real-time examples that audience can relate to on what exactly are different types of wastes in organization, what level of cultural change and of course finally automation that is required for organizations for successful Devops Transformation.

X Topic Abstract

Agile has never been about frameworks or locking your customers into one way of doing things. The Agnostic Agile Oath highlights this anti-pattern and reminds people that agility is about helping customers get to where they need to be. It puts the customer first, encourages respect and etiquette between agile practitioners and frameworks, and encourages kaizen within the agile community.

Yet, like it or not, Agile has now become a competitive industry. The focus is usually 'mine is better than yours' when it comes to frameworks, and they are seen as competing rather than complimentary. Additionally, the trend seems now to opine on a framework or organisational pattern that one has never used, experienced or even understood in the first place.

In this talk, Sam will introduce the Agnostic Agile Oath, how it came into existence and review its twelve agreements citing some real life examples.

X Topic Abstract

In today's world, when software is exponentially increasing and the demand for new solutions and products is higher than ever, the fact that quality is needed at solution level cannot be ignored. The days where quality came as afterthought, once the product is developed, it will be tested, are numbered. We are living in the age of scaling, where products, solutions, hardware and even teams need to expand quickly. In this age, quality needs to be built-in. Enterprises need to respond to change, software and systems built on good technical foundations are easier to change and adapt. We can no longer wait for inspection of the product for quality, it needs to be thought of up front, and the systems need to have built- in quality, if they are going to meet the higher demands from the consumers. In this session, Jyoti will talk about various practices used in scaling agile for Built-in quality.

X Topic Abstract

Managers often put together teams based on technical skills only. You may have requirements for "a senior Selenium automation specialist, a junior manual tester or a performance testing specialist with banking experience". But there is a lot more to building a team that collaborates well and delivers value frequently.

The team members will have different strengths and weaknesses. It's important to understand that a diverse team that has a clear purpose and empowered will perform better than a homogeneous team built on technical skills only.

In his presentation, Gabor will provide insights based on research and his personal experience, why do we need to build teams based on strengths, "soft" skills, diversity, purpose and appreciation.

Gabor Devenyi loves working with people and helping to get the best out of them. He is an enthusiastic person with 20 years of work experience across different business areas and industries. X Topic Abstract

We all know Quality, don't we? We use the word freely in discussion, and we each have our perceptions of it. But can we define it in terms that others understand? Can we discuss and communicate it with others? How do we manage this?

Failing to ask and find answers to these questions is a significant cause of failure in product-development efforts.

If you've failed to get value from test automation, this is likely why. Without a clear understanding and alignment on quality, you will struggle to demonstrate value from Test Automation. As a result, many Test Automation efforts fail to deliver real value, or gain small value for a high cost..

In 2014, a wonderful and deceptively simple framework for thinking about quality was nurtured into existence at RMIT in the fertile soil of the context-driven testing community. This talk will give you an overview of a modern quality framework that works in many different contexts to generate value and a quality outcome.
