Overview of the event

Join us at Microservices, Containers & Serverless Day in Online happening on 02 April, 2020.

A microservice is a software development technique—a variant of the service-oriented architecture architectural style that structures an application as a collection of loosely coupled services.

The Microservices, Containers & Serverless day is a forum for the discussion of all aspects of Microservices, Containers & Serverless : their design, programming, and operations. Speakers from industry report success stories, best practices, current challenges, and will participate to discussion panels on the adoption and evolution of Microservices, Containers & Serverless.

Microservices, Containers & Serverless Day successfully brings together many practitioners and researchers interested in the software paradigm of Microservices, Containers & Serverless.

X Topic Abstract

Selenium tests are slow to run and cumbersome to maintain. Execute test automation at lightning speed using BDD and Cypress. Simple to understand yet incredibly powerful. Bonus section - run it all headless in a Docker container.

X Topic Abstract

This topic is very close to what I see in real life. I meet a lot of QA Teams (even with enterprise organizations) who have invested a lot on Automation and still waiting to see the results. These teams are often blamed for increased release times (velocity). Some of the challenges I hear are script development and maintenance take forever, script failure in Continuous Integration (script quality), Framework or tool scalability to latest technologies, Tool integration capabilities, skill set (Manual to Automation). What we miss is that we need a matured ecosystem (not just QA) to make automation successful.

In my session, I would like to focus on some of the above aspects and talk about why automation fails and how to set it up for success – People, Process, Tools and Metrics

X Topic Abstract

Attendees of this session will learn how to bring the methodology of DevOps to the world of managing and operating multi-PB scale data stores deployed in a hybrid manner between on-prem and the public cloud. Learn how Wayfair does this at internet scale.

X Topic Abstract

There are multiple layers and considerations of container security - from multi-tenancy, access control, and network isolation, to the content and security of the containers themselves, Come and learn how you can establish a secure container platform with built-in security and privacy at every level.

X Topic Abstract

The need for rapid innovation and differentiated customer experience has triggered evolution of new architectural patterns with organizations moving from monolithic to microservices based platforms. Traditional testing frameworks have limitations supporting these new models. M uous test orchestration solutions. Shifting from UI based to microservice based tests also require a cultural shift in the mindset of QA teams. The objective of this presentation is to review some of the best practices in testing microservice based platforms.

X Topic Abstract

The topic will cover various aspects that are required for a successful test automation ranging from choosing or assessing various automation tools, strategy, process, culture, capability, governance etc. Also on the other side it talks about the challenges and barrier that we might come across while adopting automation in a new team.

X Topic Abstract

Enterprise DevOps is maturing and so is cloud. As enterprises modernize their core and transform their IT, it is imperative for DevOps to keep delivering the promises - and results. This session brings today's case studies and examples to show how you can immediately take your Enterprise DevOps to the Cloud

X Topic Abstract

This is an opportunity to learn and apply best practices to optimize around the flow of Development and Operational Vale Streams through an Applied System thinking approach. This session will uncover an in depth use case on how to recover fast when production outages strike our systems through a lens of Lean Agile Thinking. The patterns can be applied to other applications in various industries. So Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

X Topic Abstract

Many established companies want to leverage the cloud but need to integrate with their core (legacy) assets in order to truly see the benefits. Microservices and serverless systems are popular but how can you build those architectures and still leverage your core assets. This talk will show the best practices when building modern architectures that connect to core systems and the differences between building microservices and serverless in this type of environment. The talk also will show why your current SOA/ESB middleware could be holding you back from realizing the true benefits of the modern architectures.

X Topic Abstract

Serverless Architecture has emerged as a new compelling paradigm for the deployment of applications and services. It represents an evolution of cloud programming models, abstractions, scalability and platforms. In this session, you will learn about the business case of serverless architecture, why it matters, where is it happening, appropriate patterns of adoption, benefits and drawbacks of serverless computing and the future of serverless architecture. We will also survey a reference architecture best suited for event-driven applications requiring stateless computation that takes advantage of auto scaling.
