Microservices, Containers & Serverless Day, Bangalore
X Topic Abstract

ServiceMesh has been a trending topic of 2018-19 and there has been a vast adoption of these technologies as all the major cloud players launched their own implementation of ServiceMesh and one of the very famous one was Istio which changed the way we adopt microservices in production environment and in multi cloud scenarios. In this presentation I will be giving an introduction to ServiceMesh and details of Istio and also letting the audience know why they should adopt Istio if they are thinking to migrate to microservices. I will also explain the user scenarios for Istio adoption and how they can be used in Multi-Cloud Scenarios.

X Topic Abstract

Microservice Architecture based Application (or Solution) always have lots of moving parts in the System. Any such Application Design demands Isolation, Elasticity, Visibility, Control & Security. Containers do a great job on packaging application & its dependencies in a lightweight manner, also ensures isolation of individual pieces in Microservice Architecture. Kubernetes helps in orchestrating those Containers at scale & ServiceMesh brings Visibility, Traffic Control & Security. This Talk will cover how these new Paradigms/Technologies (Containers, Kubernetes & ServiceMesh) help in better Microservice based Application Design.

X Topic Abstract

Serverless computing is the future! Its development is fast and easy. But in the real world, it has its own complications and hurdles. This talk will focus on the challenges and barriers in running a serverless ticketing platform for less than $2 a month!
Running a ticketing platform comes with its own challenges, going serverless sometimes increases it. All the way from choosing the programming language to considering the cold starts, things become a little complicated. This talk will cover a wide range of topics covering the various architectural design decisions, trade offs, pros and cons.
This talk will consider scenarios of real life scenarios and challenges considering cost, scaling, performance and security into considerations.,

X Topic Abstract

In today’s world, data scientists need to deal with at least with few GBs of data (30-50 GB) to make sense of this data which would help decide if the data can be put to good use for building an AI/ML use case. With the amount and cost of start up time in setting up any infrastructure or platform to do such analysis, do we have any option of doing such data analysis using our modern laptops and machines without having to rely on any cloud infrastructure? Also can data scientists do this without having to learn any new technologies or tools?

X Topic Abstract

With distributed services and message driven architecture, setting up micro services for SAAS solutions can be a challenge. The issues faced include
1. Sending asynchronous messages across services using Kafka and retaining the current customer information
2. Sending synchronous messages across services using feign and retaining the current customer information
The presentation will consider Spring Cloud with Kafka and Feign.

X Topic Abstract

Cloud has brought in the concept of managing security within bounded contexts. All else is outside the scope of the service provider or the hosting vendor. How do you plan for scope security activities around the nebulous scope of the cloud especially in a hybrid / multi cloud scenarios where clear cut boundaries are not well defined. How can architecture frameworks help you to fix this issue which is like trying to safeguard a fort not knowing which doors to lock and where to start ?The talk will focus on how enterprise architecture frameworks can help create the much needed traceability and help define the scope of the security architecture activity. Using tried and tested means has the advantage of not having to reinvent the wheel and avoid missing out plugging the weak links within your enterprise.
