Global Online Live Conference
(All time mentioned in Melbourne Time Zone )

Briefly Know About This Event

Our hearts and thoughts remain with those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide. In the past months,1point21GWS has been organizing conferences on Virtual platform.

DevOps is much more than just local improvement in the development, delivery and operation of software: it represents a movement that touches development and operations (obviously!), but organisational culture, quality assurance, security, and program management.
Automation, Agile processes, micro services, continuous delivery, container and cloud technologies are essential to the current high performance IT transformation.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning and AI provide immense opportunity in Data and Process Analytics for optimum outcomes.
New business models presented by DevSecOps and NoOps are further increasing the opportunities for enterprise to deliver quality software.

X Topic Abstract

Platforms are THE buzzword of the moment. But what is this? It is a centralized place where developers can enjoy self-service APIs, tools, and services. Does it look like a dream? More and more is becoming a reality in some companies. But how to build a platform that will meet our developer's needs?
In this talk, we will talk about platforms, their importance, and why this platform must be treated, above all, as a product, with a total focus on the developer experience. You will leave the presentation with practical examples of the importance of this practice and where it has been used, ready to adopt within your context!

X Topic Abstract

Behavior-driven development (BDD) is about implementing an application by describing its behavior from the perspective of its stakeholders. This approach is based on continuous conversation and collaboration between key stakeholders and feedback from a customer. There are a lot of advantages to this methodology, but there are also a lot of challenges you can encounter during the implementation.
During my career as a QE Manager working across different types of IT projects, I've encountered common reasons why attempts to introduce BDD failed. Here, I will discuss some of these reasons so you can be aware of typical hindrances and go into your BDD adoption with plans to avoid them.

Speaker Profile

Evgeny Tkachenko has more than ten years of experience in test management, automation testing, and release management, mainly on complex projects in the telecommunication, financial, and online entertainment industries. Previously his experience as a QE Manager in Russia’s most important technology center gave Evgeny a unique perspective in test process development. Now at Wayfair, he applies his experience and expertise to do whatever is required to deliver the highest quality product possible. Evgeny is a frequent speaker at QA/Dev/Agile conferences in the US and Europe, and an author for international test and QA publications.

X Topic Abstract

APIs are the products of the 21st century. As we build out API systems, we find that we are constantly learning from product journeys. We propose a new kind of supply chain - the Integrated Supply Chain for APIs (ISCA) - which is needed by any organization looking to create and monetize API products, either directly or indirectly. In this session, Asanka will outline our vision of the ISCA, identify five key patterns for success, and give a blueprint for creating a digital business based on API products.

Speaker Profile

Asanka’s goal is to connect humans and technology by helping organizations implement digital transformation programs that result in consumer-driven digital applications. In his current role as the Chief Technology Evangelist, Asanka drives efforts to create, refine, and enhance WSO2’s corporate reference architecture and is responsible for spearheading a thought leadership outlook that defines WSO2’s corporate reference methodology for development, customer success, and implementation. Working closely with customers, partners, and analysts, he evangelizes WSO2’s technology vision. Asanka has over 20 years of industry experience, which includes designing and implementing highly scalable distributed systems, SOA and microservice architectures in the financial domain, mobile platforms, and various business integration solutions. He is also a committer of the Apache Software Foundation. Asanka is a regular speaker at numerous global events, and many tech meetups in the San Francisco Bay Area.

X Topic Abstract

2021 has dramatically impacted the way we live, work and shop. In Australia in particular, where the extended lockdowns will have a long lasting impact on customer behaviour, the quality of online experiences we provide has never been more crucial, accentuating the New Normal of ‘do more with less’ for the testing community. In this talk I will review technology and processes available which organisations can leverage now to overcome their current limited capabilities, as the building industry did by leveraging the elevator in the 1850s to evolve and create the skyscrapers we now see everywhere.

Speaker Profile

Working in IT for the last 30 years, I have witnessed the evolution of software development technologies and processes and the impact of Digital Transformation on IT organisations with the renewed focus on Customer Experience and the increasing need for Software Quality at speed. With a keen interest in Automation, AI and Machine Learning, I have helped organisations leverage new and disruptive technologies from Virtual Assistants and Voice Biometrics to Visual and Functional Test Automation.

The talk is mostly on giving a staged approach to climbing the DevOps ladder. It also dispels a few misconceptions that people have about DevOps. For example, DevOps is only about CI/CD. The six pillars that I talk about are People, Architecture, Infrastructure, Observability, Security, Application.

X Topic Abstract

X Topic Abstract

The Comrades Marathon is the largest and oldest ultra marathon in the world. Every year 20,000 runners line up to subject themselves to 90 (very hilly) kilometres of pain, anguish and mental torture - a lot like agile transformations. Whilst the Amazons and Googles seem to have agility built into their DNA, most of us are like the 'average runner' battling through to finish Comrades in the final hour before cut-off. The presentation uses statistical analysis and stories from the Comrades Marathon to refute several agile misconceptions; demonstrates how the Comrades Marathon applies to the Agile Manifesto (and how this practically applies back to enterprise agile transformations); and finally 'proves' that anyone can run the Comrades Marathon (and therefore any organisation can have a successful enterprise agile transformation!). Enterprise agile transformations are a lot of hard work. This is a talk for those of us for whom agility does not come naturally - from a runner who has battled through 10 Comrades Marathons and spent 3 years battling away on the front line of a major enterprise agile transformation.
Learning Outcomes The talk combines statistical analysis and inspirational stories from the Comrades Marathon to provide humorous, practical and appropriate insights that relate to your enterprise agile transformation. Real data, anecdotes and photos are used to illustrate each point.
* Agile fables versus practical facts
* The importance of getting the pace of change just right
* The importance of goals to drive the transformation journey
* Conquering the most difficult aspects of agile transformations
* The role of leadership in agile transformations

X Topic Abstract

Test automation is a key practice these days. But how come that I see so many organizations still relying on manual tests. In this presentation we look at continues cycles in test automation. Derk-Jan will share the journey he made while trying to implement test automation practices at various organizations. He’ll compare his experience with today’s state of automation. Together we’ll discover how much has changed and what challenges seem to be consistent. Test automation is about testing. But automating tests forces us to think about requisites, maturity, and business cases. Test automation can be used to drive test improvements. But: What if you have a test automation framework, but the tests just ain’t no good? Does that mean you are back to square one? We’ll explore a successful marriage between testing and automation and explain why the success of AUTOMATION actually lies in automating good TESTS.

X Topic Abstract

Unit testing ensures your production code is relevant. But what does ensure your testing code is relevant? Come discover mutation testing and make sure your never forget another assert again.
In the realm of testing, the code coverage metrics is the most often talked about. However, it doesn’t mean that the test has been useful or even that an assert has been coded. Mutation testing is a strategy to make sure that the test code is relevant.
In this talk, I will explain how Code Coverage is computed and what its inherent flaw is. Afterwards, I will describe how Mutation Testing work and how it helps pointing out code that is tested but leave out corner cases. I will also demo PIT, a Java production-grade framework that enables Muta
