He says chess taught him the importance of doing this, a pawn (or a rookie) can become the king when it reaches the other end, the challenge is to take it that far. But he is also known to demand a lot from his teams and again he uses a chess metaphor to explain that the worst enemy of a strategist is the clock.

Karsh focuses on Designing & Architecting innovative solutions for business problems which will be cost effective while using leading edge technologies. He uses his leadership skills in team building, technology research, while managing the creative aspect of software building, motivating and empowering team members to come up with new innovative solutions.

X Workshop Abstract

Summary
Docker is a program that performs OS level virtualization also known as containerization. On and Docker creates a simple tooling and a universal packaging approach that bundles up your application and its dependencies inside a container. Docker containers can be used in development, staging to production environment.

Kubernetes is an open source Container Orchestration System for automatic deployment, scaling and management of Containerized application. Kubernetes gives you the freedom to take advantage of on premise, hybrid or public cloud infrastructure. Kubernetes helps you to scale both horizontally and vertically depends on the load.

Kubernetes gives containers their own IP addresses and a single DNS name for a set of containers, and can load-balance across them. Kubernetes Secrets helps you to store your sensitive information about application such as passwords, OAuth tokens and ssh keys.

Kubernetes progressively rolls out changes to your application or its configuration, while monitoring application health to ensure it doesn't kill all your instances at the same time. If something goes wrong, Kubernetes will rollback the change for you.

Jenkins helps to create continuous integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines. It allows to write pipeline as code and supports distributed build environments.

X Topic Abstract

Containers are not a fad. IT Ops teams are adopting Kubernetes to orchestrate containers in production-grade environments -- both on premises and in the cloud. If you are moving to containers and are going to be responsible for Kubernetes in a production, this session is a great summary of things you will need to consider.

We'll start with a quick intro to Kubernetes - and then dig in...

1 - K8s on premises and the cloud is the same – what’s underneath is not.
2 - Stateful applications rely on persistent storage.
3 - Container networking is different – now IP addresses and ports are ephemeral.
4 – K8s needs to be installed, monitored and maintained.
5 – The monitoring and observability footprint has expanded.
6 – What's up with all the yaml?

Speaker Profile

Nuttee is on a mission to help organizations transform their business and application with multi-cloud, containers and DevOps. He has more than 10+ years experience and diverge background from enterprise networking, security, virtualization, software defined data center, programmability API and DevOps. As a Cisco Data Center Architecture SE, he continue to pursuit for developers and operations automation with containers, sdn and CI/CD. And that will make applications faster, safer and be truly multi-cloud.
