Organizations are experimenting with innovation labs, garages, Lean UX a plethora of exciting contemporary approaches to increase innovation and build creative solutions; however, the reality is, that when the experiments are validated and the products are pushed to the production queue it often takes a long time to release the product to production. Unfortunately many 'creative endeavours' fail to include the operation teams. It doesn’t have to be this way!

We'll discuss how to:
- Build innovative products with DEVOPS integration.
- Employ The Lean Startup techniques for rapid MVP experiment validation.
- Embrace DEVOPS cross-functional team to speed the feedback loop.
- Speed up by using automation to “rinse & repeat”. Measure the real business impact of the changes.

Key takeway - DEVOPS and Lean Startup work together to enable measuring the true business impact of product development.

X Topic Abstract

The "deploy moment" is an occasion that still gives many developers the shivers. But it shouldn’t be this way (at least not every time). Luckily enough, we have tools and processes today that enable us to turn the deploy moment into an usual activity. Gone where the days when we had to automate everything by hand. Today we have Kubernetes and OpenShift to automate out-of-box many different scenarios.

Come and join this live demo session with lots of different deployment scenarios: from basic to advanced. We'll cover the basic deployment concepts and then we'll dig into demoing how can we use open source tools like Kubernetes and OpenShift to master the deployment art.

X Topic Abstract

Increasing, Docker is being used in production but it can also be used as part of your CI/CD process. In this session, we will explain the overall pattern for using docker as part of your build process and discuss how using containers to build your project helps eliminate dependency issues on your build servers. First, we will create the build process locally and then apply the process to a tool such as VSTS. The end result is a clean, repeatable and build process that can be run locally or in a build pipeline. By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of how and why you would use containers in your CI/CD process, and have real examples of creating CI/CD pipelines using containers in VSTS.

X Topic Abstract

In this overview and demonstration, you will learn how to quickly and easily spin up a continuous delivery pipeline using Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Helm. In addition, we will show how you can minimize risk by finding production issues early using prometheus for application monitoring and perform automated rollbacks.

X Topic Abstract

More frequently, different companies are migrating their existing On-Premises applications to the cloud and are seeing a variety of benefits such as: no more data centers to support and maintain, vertical and horizontal scaling configuration is now simplified, speed up time to market, among others. But what happens if you deploy multiple (say 10+) Azure WebApps and additionally you have to place some of them in your private network? When you start adding more ingredients into the mix pretty soon you'll realize the need of additional services (i.e. App Service Environment) or the creation of Azure VMs with Availability Set enabled; all these additional services might accumulate quickly and you could end up paying more than if you use 1 or 3 Master node(s) plus 2 or more Agents (workers) - 3 VMs in total at a minimum.

In this session we'll talk about a real life example of an efficient cloud migration and a benefits comparison between IaaS, PaaS and Azure Container Services that could influence your decision on the option that best fits your needs.

Jorge Cotillo is a Technical Architect at Centric Consulting with over 13 years of experience. Jorge has been coding since the age of 10 years old when he first grabbed his dad's Commodore 64 book and coded a color changing box displayed on an old CGA screen, this event set the foundation of his passion ... coding.

Since then he's been exposed to different programming languages such as Java, VB.NET, C#, Python, OCaml and a little bit of PHP. Also driving increased visibility across the organization to real time and trending quality indicators per app/feature, enabling risk mitigation and decision making.

Amir will go through the following practices to allow audiences to:

- Best practices to drive quality across the SDLC
- Accelerate application optimization by introducing production insight as current sprint requirements
- Shorten time to market by ensuring monitoring methodology alignment with development and test tools
