X Topic Abstract

Technical experts are key to our survival. They have deep knowledge, specialist skills and ambitious solutions that can move us forward across a range of fields and industries. Surrounded by the right people, the voice of an expert is heard and harnessed into something ground-breaking that changes life as we know it. It all comes down to the ability to connect, communicate and collaborate. During this interactive session, Eithne will share the theory and practice of a number of change management techniques to help you influence successful change within your work environment.

Speaker Profile

Eithne (pronounced Eth-na) is a director and co-founder of Wires Uncrossed, a business that helps technical teams connect. It’s her passionate belief that building stronger connections is the key to ensuring a sustainable organisational culture, through increased staff engagement and motivation, and reduced turnover. Originally from Ireland, Eithne spent over five years working for large multinationals in China, where she helped teams overcome the barriers of language, culture and distance to build strong connections. Moving to New Zealand, she has spent the last 13 years working alongside technical experts in some of our largest companies, equipping them with the skills and structures to foster effective communication.

X Topic Abstract

The Future of Work has become the NOW of Work in weeks instead of years. Not only does this require new ways of working such as remote working with all its facets, but for these new ways of working to thrive they need to be based on a new paradigm of culture and leadership based on trust and shared purpose. This new culture is not top-down or meticulously planned ahead so it cannot be "implemented" using old paradigm change management approaches. The transformation needs to "walk the talk" as an experimental experience that empowers workers to drive and adjust to their work reality. You will discover a simple paradigm framework that we know teams love, and a simple team-driven change approach that workers find highly engaging and disrupts your ways of working gently yet effectively."

X Topic Abstract

Enable your ambitions and strategy to be supported by your stakeholders. Successfully transforming a business requires shared understanding, easier said than done when every leader brings its own style to the game. Build from negative to positive, even though we think our decisions are rational, they are purely driven by emotions. Enable decisions valuing time, provoke emotional change, iteratively build shared understanding.
