X Topic Abstract

Business analysts use data analysis to make strategic business decisions. As agents of change within an organization, it is critical to first understand current processes and business rules – including disparate sources of data used for business functions. Such data analysis during the requirements gathering phase uncovers problems faced by the business along with options to optimize its operations and drive business needs. In doing so, business analysts lead to better data quality, standardization, trends, overall system and process efficiencies. For us, data is a means to an end. If you can recognize requirements that indicate impacts to the data environment early in your project, you can draw on other resources more effectively.
