AI and specifically Generative AI(Gen AI) has been on the rise with tremendous adoption and opportunities in numerous fields. They include finance, healthcare, supply chain management, and the creative industries. Gen AI identifies patterns and generates valuable insights by analyzing vast quantities of data. The session explores the convergence of Blockchain and AI to create systems that are secure, intelligent, and adaptive. Such robust systems prevent data breaches, increase efficiency and reduce costs of organisations.

Data is the foundation of AI systems and is a prerequisite for successfully implementing AI solutions. Organizations must determine, among other things, whether the data is balanced(free of bias), exhaustive(includes all pertinent variables), diverse (includes rare situations) and of sufficient volume.

AI models used for decision-making provide little transparency. Large datasets(produced exponentially by people, channels, platforms, and devices) are pumped into systems, and results are produced in the form of analysis, reports or recommendations. This can create an issue of trust and raises questions about the system’s credibility, particularly considering the existing challenges with data sets that may be incomplete, poorly sourced, inaccurate or contain biases. Blockchain technology comes to the rescue in such situations. Blockchain offers data provenance and audit trails, transparency and traceability of data and potential interoperability across various platforms to produce more trustworthy AI-based systems for analysis and decision-making.

I am Eashan Dash, currently donning the hat of an AI engineer at AMD. I have 4+ years of professional experience in and around AI, Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), and High-Performance Computing (HPC). I am a gold medallist from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kancheepuram with a dual degree in Computer Engineering. My work and research areas primarily include High-performance DNNs, Acceleration and Optimization of DNNs, and Numerical Linear Algebra Library optimization for servers and supercomputers.
